Eight renowned doctors were today conferred with the Dr K S Sanjivi awards-2007, instituted by the Confederation of Indian Organisations For Service and Advocacy (CIOSA) at a function here. Dr Aishwarya Bhujangarao, Paediatrician, Hyderabad, Dr V Narayanan, Paediatrician, Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Hospital, Palakkad, Dr R V Ramani, Ophthalmologist, Sankara Eye Care, Coimbatore, Dr Atul Shah, Plastic Surgeon, Novartis Comprehensive Leprosy Care Association, Mumbai, Dr Juvva Adisesha Rao, Diabetologist, Community Health Centre, Pulicat, Dr S Jeyachandran of Chennai, Dr Muthuraman of Tenkasi and Dr Mohan Rajan, Ophthalmologist, Rajan Eye Care Hospital here bagged the award from Tamil Nadu Medical and Rural Health Services Director Dr Bava Fathruddin and Dr Sunil Shroff of Sri Ramachandra Medical College.

Speaking on the occasion, CIOSA Founder-Trustee K Pandiarajan said the annual award was instituted in 2004 to honour Dr Sanjivi, the founder of Voluntary Health Services and pioneer of community health care services.
