Education and Skill Development

Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Trust agali has started several Education and Skill Development has conducting Micro-Enterprise Development Programs and Livelihood and Enterprise Development Program

Educational Resource Centres

These are centres located in the tribal villages that conduct weekend classes to promote critical thinking, learning through self-discovery, cultural and moral values and develop problem solving skills among school children. The classes are usually attended by about 15-25 children in a centre. There are instructors to guide the children and also provide them inputs on academic subjects. There are currently 30 villages with active educational resource centers.

 

Micro-Enterprise Development Programs MEDP

Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission has been conducting NABARD supported Micro-Enterprise Development Programs since 2015. Till Now, 10 MEDPs have been conducted in various topics like saree printing, garment making, mobile service, beautician course, commercial horticulture etc. More than 300 SHG members have attended the training and many have started income generation activities with the help of these trainings.

JSS-supported training programs

Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) aims to provide vocational training to uplift the rural population by imparting essential skills training, thereby enabling local trade to grow, and creating new opportunities for the natives of that region. Jan Shikshan Sansthan training has been conducted in our skill development center since 2020. Till now, the skill development center has hosted six batches of JSS training on topics such as embroidery, beautician course, and MS Office covering more than 100 women 

NABARD Livelihood and Enterprise Development Program on Freshwater Aquaculture

  • 10-days intensive skill development trainings conducted for 150 beneficiaries
  • 2-days refresher training conducted for 150 beneficiaries
  • 14 aquaculture units have been set-up with 45 beneficiaries.
  • First sale of fish conducted: 75kg fresh Tilapia fish sold at Rs.220/kg
